Client Testimonial: Shamsiah From Hessa Bags.

Hessa Bags is a manufacturer of Islamic handbags bags which are not only beautiful and practical, but meaningful too. They are based in Malaysia and has been my client since July 2015. I am very grateful to Shamsiah, the founder and owner of the company, who has been so kind as to write a review about our work together.

Here is what Shamsiah writes:

“I first discovered Oksancia’s work on Spoonflower and subsequently on Shutterstock. At the time I was looking for an illustrator to help translate my ideas into beautiful patterns for my handbag business, and also to offer their views and ideas on what will and won’t work. Her work to me is clean yet meticulous, and although there is a wide variety in her work, they are all beautiful.
I loved working with Oksancia, she was quick to understand my (jumbled and sometimes vague!) ideas and voila, magically produce patterns which require just a few tiny tweaks here and there.
I highly recommend anyone looking for an illustrator to contact her. I personally can’t wait to collaborate with her again, hopefully sooner rather than later!”

Client Testimonial: Sarah From Cari Slings. Fabric Design Case Study

I am feeling honored to hear from my amazing client Sarah – the founder of Cari Slings woven babywearing wraps company based in North Carolina, USA. She was so kind to write down her feedback on our experience of working together for 1.5 years. Sarah is a mom of three beautiful children, a babywearing enthusiast, and a passionate geek, which translates into her esthetic and choice of topics for her company’s products – USA woven babywearing slings.

Sarah writes:

“When Cari Slings was still in its infancy, I was primarily using mill stock designs. I was very happy with our original designs, but I felt the need to start searching for designers that connected a bit more with my aesthetic.

I stumbled upon a beautiful underwater design by Oksana late one night and loved her work immediately. I found the designer’s name and site and perused her website. I loved everything that I saw, and contacted Oksana enquiring if she would be interested in collaborating with me. She responded and let me know that she had recently given birth and was taking a little bit of time to spend with her family, and asked if I could get back in touch with her in a month or two. I did not hesitate to follow up, and upon getting back in touch, we worked out the details and she took my simple ideas and turned them into a beautiful Under The Sea design.

Since that first project, Oksana and I have collaborated further and she has produced some very fun and beautiful designs for Cari Slings. She has created our Owl Post (http://www.carislings.com/chapters/Owl-Post), Neverending (http://www.carislings.com/chapters/Neverending), The ‘Verse (http://www.carislings.com/chapters/the-verse), #solidarity (a Facebook group exclusive design), our Avatar inspired design (another Facebook group exclusive) and a few more designs that are still “under wraps”.

Oksana is a truly gifted artist. She is an absolute pleasure to work with. When we collaborate on an idea, we brainstorm different concepts, I let Oksana know what I would like, and within a few days, she provides me with a first draft design that always exceeds my expectations. Her artistry translates onto our woven fabric beautifully, and my customers and myself are always so thrilled.

If one is looking for an artist who puts her heart into her work, and if one is looking for a designer who will not just meet, but exceed your expectations, please do not hesitant to get in touch with Oksana. I cannot sing her praises enough. Her work speaks for itself.

Thank you kindly Oksana. :)”

Thank you so much for such a great feedback. I loved our time working together too! It’s been filled with wonderful, creative assignments and I really enjoyed the process of working together to bring your and your customer’s ideas to life on special, custom and uniques fabric designs.

Here is the story :) Our creative journey with Sarah started with this Under The Sea design in 2014 which is now available in an array of colors and fabric choices:

Since then Sarah and I collaborated on 9 more designs like the Owl Post fabric design inspired by the world of Harry Potter:

Cute Baby and Toddler Shoes By Cari Slings With My Fabric Designs

Cari Slings has done it again! :) They came up with these adorable baby and toddler shoes made out of the remnants of the exclusive fabric used for their babywearing slings. And many of them have my designs on them. Yay! :) I love how talented and creative Sarah, the owner of Cari Slings, is coming up with new and fun product ideas. Can’t wait for the pictures of little feet in these tiny shoes!

Oh wait! There is one ;)

They are made of a brand new fabric I together with my Art Team artist designed for Cari Slings – Oracle from Neverending chapter, which is inspired by the scales of dragon Falcor from The NeverEnding Story movie. Love how comfy they look. I want a pair too. Not only for my little Olivia, but for myself ;)

There are little shoes made of Under The Sea fabric line in different colors, designed by me in 2014.

Cool! Handmade Wallets With My Under The Sea Fabric Design For Cari Slings

One of my favorite customers Cari Slings babywearing wraps company just annouced a limited edition of awesome new handmade wallets with their exclusive sling fabric. And Yay! My Under The Sea seashell fabric design is among them and in two color choices. So excited! These cute wallets are for sale for a limited time on Cari Slings accesory department over here.

Each wallet is a trifold and measures approximately 5×8″ folded. And I love the little penny tag. In Ukraine we have a superstition of never giving a wallet as a gift without any money in it too. Funny that it’s common in other countries as well :)

You can read the story about the Cari Slings Under The Sea babywearing slings with my designs here and they are for sale over here.

My Seashell Fabric Design For Cari Slings – Under The Sea Line

So excited to announce my first project for a wonderful babywearing company Cari Slings – seashell fabric design for a line of amazing babywearing slings. The owner of Cari Slings, Sarah contacted me with the request to create a unique textile artwork with a Caribbean vibe, hence the name of the company, and a laid back and fun style to remind of a relaxing, exotic vacation on the beach :) I loved the idea, especially now that I live by the ocean and the beach has become a big part or my life.

Under The Sea line of wraps has been born! Here is my little Olivia and I testing the sling for ourselves. I really like how luxurious and soft the fabric is! And that subtle shine to it is amazing!

After our little photo session Olivia inspected the wrap for herself :) Now it’s one of her favorite toys. We often use it as a roof for her little house made with two chairs and the sling over them.

This design is full of fun seashells, shells, scallops, and starfish. I was inspired by the finds from our beach walks here in Santa Barbara.

The sling is available for sale in a few different colors and fabrics on Cari Slings website.

Interviewed By Paksy Plackis-Cheng, Author Of ImpactX Book

A few weeks ago I attended a book launch of IMPACT X: How to Transform Your Wisdom, Work, and Wealth into Meaningful Community Impact written by Paksy Plackis-Cheng. I really enjoyed the presentation, especially how Paksy organized the event by focusing on the stories of the great entrepreneur impact makers who she invited to speak on a panel. I was very inspired by their stories at the book launch.

I am reading the book now, which is filled with amazing experiences and wisdom of incredible business men and women making the impact on society with their work.

Little did I know that Paksy was originally from the Netherlands. After briefly meeting her husband Brian at the event, he introduced me to Paksy and I shared a bit of my story about my 7 years in the Netherlands and my art business. My Dutch is very rusty after not having been used for more than 3 years ;) But it was still really nice to speak with Paksy about our common Dutch-American experiences. We ended up meeting for coffee a few days later and Paksy was so nice to interview me about my seamless pattern design business for her blog.

Huge thank you to Paksy for taking interest in my work!

There have been some new developments over the last few months with which you can find out in this interview. Me and my husband Alex gathered a group of talented artists and designers to form a surface design studio called Seamless Zebra. It’s still at a beginning stage of development, but the experience so far has been wondeful. I’m very excited to see what the future holds! :)

First Time Saw My Pattern On Products In the Store. It Was a Nice Surprise!

Last Sunday Alex, little Olivia, and I all walked into Best Buy to recycle some old batteries and the first thing I saw when walking into the front door was my pattern on a phone case! It was the first time I encountered my artwork by chance at a store while shopping :)

The brand of these phone cases is Dynex and I couldn’t find my particular design online, but they were available in a couple of locations at our Goleta, California Best Buy electronics store. I am very excited to bump into my work in real life and just 3 minutes away from my home.

This is the floral pattern design that is featured on this Dynex case: Vector blue and yellow flower silhouettes seamless pattern background

Hope to see more of my artwork out there on the store shelves. I should probably go shopping more ;)

So excited! Origany children’s clothing line with my designs!

Greetings, friends! Life has been happy, busy and interesting with a new baby around here :) I haven’t been posting in a while, but today I finally have a minute to share something very exciting with you. A while back I was contacted by Origany – organic children’s clothing company based in San Francisco – to design a fabric for one of their spring lines. It was very exciting to work with them on a birds and flowers inspired design with an Oriental vibe. Here is the final artwork they chose:

This is a fabric design I did in vector with Origany’s custom colors and here is a t-shirt print with the bird and blossoms:

The line consists of a onesie, long sleeved shirts, a couple of cute dresses, pants and hats.

I like them all but my favorite one is this kimono dress design with purple and coral panels and bows. Adorable! I got one for Olivia, of course ;)

It is such a great feeling to see my designs on kids’ clothes! I hope there are more opportunities like this in the future.

Can’t wait till baby Olivia is old enough to wear her Origany kimono dress and t-shirt :)
