How to find your own design style while following tutorials.
In this video, I talk about how to make your repeat pattern designs or any artwork for that matter, unique while you learn from others and work through design and art lessons and tutorials.
My Pattern It Up course student Verena asked me:
“How do I learn from tutorials and lessons and don’t make my designs too similar to the artwork shown in them? How do I make my designs more unique?”
Great question! You are spending time learning and creating your designs while following mine or other teacher’s tutorials, but you are not sure if the end design is uniquely yours or not?
How do you implement all of the tips you learn without having a copy of the artwork shown?
You want to create a unique design that you can add yo your portfolio and license!
And, of couse, you want to know how to improve your graphic design skills at the same time.
First of all, do not submit for sale or license the designs that are very similar to the ones you learned from in the tutorials!
