I have been so blessed this year to welcome so many wonderful, creative people into our community, people who decided to be courageous and learn, and create, not only repeat pattern designs, but also a better future for themselves and their families – my students of Pattern It Up course. There are more than 155 students who went through this course starting December 2017 and through September 2018 and I am so grateful to share my experience, knowledge, and my systems with them. Thank you so much, my dear students, for all your support and feedback, that has helped me create and grow as a teacher as well as a designer. You mean a lot to me!
To express how much I appreciate you, I painted this acrylic painting on canvas last week – Flowers of creativity. It has a special meaning – every flower, leaf and a gold dot signify a student in my first 4 groups of Pattern It Up course. Every one is unique and special. I decided to create a traditional media artwork instead of a digital vector repeat pattern as I am used to also be courageous and to stretch myself as you, my dear students stretch yourself every day to learn and grow.
Here it is hanging in my home studio 🙂 It will be featured in the background of many of my Youtube videos from now on and will remind me every day of my mission:
