I am feeling honored to hear from my amazing client Sarah – the founder of Cari Slings woven babywearing wraps company based in North Carolina, USA. She was so kind to write down her feedback on our experience of working together for 1.5 years. Sarah is a mom of three beautiful children, a babywearing enthusiast, and a passionate geek, which translates into her esthetic and choice of topics for her company’s products – USA woven babywearing slings.
“When Cari Slings was still in its infancy, I was primarily using mill stock designs. I was very happy with our original designs, but I felt the need to start searching for designers that connected a bit more with my aesthetic.
I stumbled upon a beautiful underwater design by Oksana late one night and loved her work immediately. I found the designer’s name and site and perused her website. I loved everything that I saw, and contacted Oksana enquiring if she would be interested in collaborating with me. She responded and let me know that she had recently given birth and was taking a little bit of time to spend with her family, and asked if I could get back in touch with her in a month or two. I did not hesitate to follow up, and upon getting back in touch, we worked out the details and she took my simple ideas and turned them into a beautiful Under The Sea design.
Since that first project, Oksana and I have collaborated further and she has produced some very fun and beautiful designs for Cari Slings. She has created our Owl Post (http://www.carislings.com/cha
Oksana is a truly gifted artist. She is an absolute pleasure to work with. When we collaborate on an idea, we brainstorm different concepts, I let Oksana know what I would like, and within a few days, she provides me with a first draft design that always exceeds my expectations. Her artistry translates onto our woven fabric beautifully, and my customers and myself are always so thrilled.
If one is looking for an artist who puts her heart into her work, and if one is looking for a designer who will not just meet, but exceed your expectations, please do not hesitant to get in touch with Oksana. I cannot sing her praises enough. Her work speaks for itself.
Thank you kindly Oksana. :)”
Thank you so much for such a great feedback. I loved our time working together too! It’s been filled with wonderful, creative assignments and I really enjoyed the process of working together to bring your and your customer’s ideas to life on special, custom and uniques fabric designs.
Here is the story :) Our creative journey with Sarah started with this Under The Sea design in 2014 which is now available in an array of colors and fabric choices:
Since then Sarah and I collaborated on 9 more designs like the Owl Post fabric design inspired by the world of Harry Potter:
So excited to announce my first project for a wonderful babywearing company Cari Slings – seashell fabric design for a line of amazing babywearing slings. The owner of Cari Slings, Sarah contacted me with the request to create a unique textile artwork with a Caribbean vibe, hence the name of the company, and a laid back and fun style to remind of a relaxing, exotic vacation on the beach :) I loved the idea, especially now that I live by the ocean and the beach has become a big part or my life.
Under The Sea line of wraps has been born! Here is my little Olivia and I testing the sling for ourselves. I really like how luxurious and soft the fabric is! And that subtle shine to it is amazing!
After our little photo session Olivia inspected the wrap for herself :) Now it’s one of her favorite toys. We often use it as a roof for her little house made with two chairs and the sling over them.
This design is full of fun seashells, shells, scallops, and starfish. I was inspired by the finds from our beach walks here in Santa Barbara.
The sling is available for sale in a few different colors and fabrics on Cari Slings website.
Ow wow! So honored to have my kangaroo fabric design from my Spoonflower shop to be featured on this adorable coming home from the hospital outfit for a new baby, nicknamed “Roo”. I love this whole outfit! So cute!
I am myself jumping like a kangaroo from joy looking at this fun and cosy clothing set! ;) It was handmade by Hurley from TurtleLoveShop on Etsy. She makes the most adorable childrens clothing with a lot of fun and colorful fabrics. You can see more of her lovely creations on her Facebook page.
My kangaroo fabric pattern design used in this baby set.
I just love these pictures from Origany cataloque! Cute little girls are sporting outfits with designs on them. I created the bird fabric print you can see on a kimono dress and a corresponding bird and flowers t-shirt print. I talk more about it here.
Can’t wait till my baby Olivia is wearing clothes from this collection :) Pretty soon! I have one in 6 to 9 months and she is almost 6 months already. Time flies!
Greetings, friends! Life has been happy, busy and interesting with a new baby around here :) I haven’t been posting in a while, but today I finally have a minute to share something very exciting with you. A while back I was contacted by Origany – organic children’s clothing company based in San Francisco – to design a fabric for one of their spring lines. It was very exciting to work with them on a birds and flowers inspired design with an Oriental vibe. Here is the final artwork they chose:
This is a fabric design I did in vector with Origany’s custom colors and here is a t-shirt print with the bird and blossoms:
The line consists of a onesie, long sleeved shirts, a couple of cute dresses, pants and hats.
I like them all but my favorite one is this kimono dress design with purple and coral panels and bows. Adorable! I got one for Olivia, of course ;)
It is such a great feeling to see my designs on kids’ clothes! I hope there are more opportunities like this in the future.
Can’t wait till baby Olivia is old enough to wear her Origany kimono dress and t-shirt :)
Toni used my Elephants with bouquets fabric available on my Spoonflower shop for a cute trunk and the back of this fun plush toy. Very sweet and colorful! :) I just love seeing my fabric patterns used on actual items! So inspiring!
Toni has an Etsy shop CoolTricks where she sells her handmade creations: toys, pillows, wraps and more. Thank you so much for sharing, Toni! :)
From time to time I embark on a Google images search trip to find how my pictures are being used. Today’s trip appeared to be very productive as I managed to find a couple of very curious and exciting things. For example, I was so glad to stumble upon a picture of cute shorts made from my Bright Garden Flowers fabric by Spoonflower employee Danielle!!! :) Wow! :D
They look great… Especially in the middle of winter :) It seams that I have missed this post on Spoonflower blog a couple of months ago. Nevertheless, I am always happy to see how people bring my fabric designs to life. Thank you, Spoonflower, for sharing this picture!
Hope you are all having a great day!
Hi everyone! I am very excited to announce that my new fabric collection California Days is finally available on Spoonflower. It is insired by my recent move to beautiful Santa Barbara, California. There is just so much inspiration around that I decided to share it all with you :) I hope you would be able to feel the lushness and fullness of life of this little paradise through my fabrics.
To give you a better feel of the fabric and texture, I designed this little reversible tote bag with hummingbirds and flowers from my new fabric collection.
Hope you are all doing great! I am working on new fabrics for my Spoonflower shop and here is one seamless pattern with smiling Halloween pumpkins that is now available for sale. It’s a spooky, but happy one :) I wonder if I should try my hand at carving pumpkins this fall ;)
I am really excited about this wallet made by lovely LittleQuack. The pink fabric with romantic flamingos is my design Flamingo Love from my Spoonflower Shop. It is just so fun to see how people use my fabrics! LittleQuack did an amazing job on this little wallet and she has such lovely, pattern covered creations in her Etsy shop.
I am currently working on a bunch of new patterns myself ;)
Hope your are all having a great week!
